The C. Mac Johnson Farmer’s Market Day drew a tremendous crowd to the Montgomery State Farmers’ Market on Saturday, 9 July 2011. There were prizes, awards, exhibits, and live entertainment. Most especially, the host of Alabama citizens came to honor the memory and hard work of Charles McIntyre Johnson, Sr. (Uncle Mac) in founding and promoting the Alabama Farmers’ Market. At right, Aunt Gene receives a special citation honoring Uncle Mac presented by Governor and Mrs. Bentley and Commissioner of Agriculture McMillan. See the slide show below for more great photos.

Many Johnson family members were there to enjoy the day and honor Uncle Mac, including, from Uncle Mac’s family Gene, George, and Jacob Davis, Aunt Gene Johnson and Carrie, Jeremy, Elizabeth and Taylor Mac Johnson; from Uncle Wylie’s family Melanie Fay Johnson and Kellet, Lulu and Lillie May; Aunt Katie Murphy and Johnny Murphy; from Aunt Caroline’s family Neva Caroline Williams and Walter, Dean, Steve and Jacob McIntyre Albritton.

What an outstanding day and such a well deserved honor of Uncle Mac! Thank you, Gene Burt Davis, for sharing these great photos and the news of the day!
