Wylie Pierson Johnson has passed.

Wylie Pierson Johnson, a truly great man and our dear Uncle Wylie, passed away peacefully this morning, 2 November 2013, at 6:51 a.m. at his home in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He was the eleventh child and seventh son of Seth and Neva Kate Carmichael Johnson. He was born 28 March 1919 at Carol Villa in Montgomery, Alabama. He and Aunt Lurene “Dolly” Hall Johnson raised 3 children, Barbara Lurene Johnson Hill, Melanie Fay Johnson and Wylie Benjamin Johnson. His children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews all greatly loved and respected him. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m.. Following is Uncle Wylie’s obituary….

Marjory Growden Poundstone has passed

We are sad to report that our cousin Marjory Growden Poundstone has passed this obituary appeared in the Montgomery Advertiser on 16 June 2013.

POUNDSTONE, MARJORY GROWDEN, age 86, of Montgomery, AL passed away on June 15, 2013.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by Phillip Paterson Poundstone.
She is survived by four daughters:
Melissa Poundstone Wallace,
Nancy Poundstone Walden (Kenny),
Patti Poundstone Badham (Percy),
and Doris Poundstone Stein (Tom).

Joshua McIntyre Albritton to graduate from Macon East Academy

Joshua McIntyre Albritton will graduate from Macon East Academy on Thursday, 23 May at 7:00 P.M.. The graduation will be at the First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street in Montgomery. Baccalaureate services will be held at 11:00 a.m. that same morning in Stokely Sanctuary. at the church. Josh is the son of James Stephen “Steve” and Amy Lynn Baxley Albritton, grandson of Walter Matther, Jr. and Louise Eudene “Dean” Brown Albritton and great-grandson of Walter Matthew and Caroline Johnson Albritton (Uncle Walter and Aunt Caroline).

Brittany Lauren Johnson graduates from Auburn University

We are pleased to announce that Brittany Lauren Johnson, daughter of David Henry and Diana Lyn Applegate Johnson, graduated from Auburn University on 5 May 2013. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She has accepted a job in the Attorney General’s Office in Washington, D. C.. Brittany is the granddaughter of Parley Philip and Edith Christine Fail Johnson (Uncle Philip and Aunt Christine). Congratulations, Brittany! John Michael "Jay" Mastin invested as Marshall Co. District Judge

On 18 Jan. 2013, John Michael “Jay” Mastin was invested as District Court Judge in Marshall County, AL. Jay’s grandmother Joyce O’Brien sent a news article published in their church bulletin. Thank you for sharing this wonderful news, Joyce! This is a very proud moment in Johnson Family history. Judge Jay Mastin is the son of Michael Dennis “Mike” and Belinda Joyce “Lindy” Mastin, grandson of Seth Michael “Mickey” and Joyce Graham O’Brien and great-grandson of Joseph Nathaniel and Dorothy Dixson Johnson O’Brien (Uncle "Joe" and Aunt "Dot").
