Sarah Simpson Grandin weds Olivier Pecquenard

We received wonderful news of the wedding of cousin Sarah Simpson Grandin. Her father, Mike Grandin, sent the following message:

Yesterday [21 August 2009], our daughter Sarah, 21, married Olivier Pecquenard, her sweet beau of two and half years.  They were wed in the mayor's office of a small town in France not far from the Swiss border.  Olivier, 24, is an accomplished chef currently working at Chateauvieux, a Relais Chateau outside Geneva.  Sarah returns on the 26th to start her junior year and Olivier will join her in January and will probably work at La Folie,  Fleur de Lys or a similar French restaurant.  They met when she was an intern and he a chef at Taillevent during her gap year in 2007.

Sarah is the daughter of Michael Henry and Ann Averill Johnson Grandin, granddaughter of Frederick Orson “Fred” and Marilyn Johnson, great-granddaughter of Howard Alexander and Virginia McNaughton Johnson, 2x-great-granddaughter of of Frederick Orson “Fred” Johnson, and 3x-great-granddaughter of Orson Thomas Johnson. Orson Thomas was a brother of Philip Paddleford Johnson.

Love and best wishes to you Sarah and Olivier!

p.s. Sarah’s father Mike also tells us that son Harley has bought a
Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. Mike says, "I’m happy about the marriage, but less than thrilled about the motorcycle. Let's all pray he keeps the rubber side down." Absolutely! :-) p.p.s. See the 20 Oct 2011 update story "Sarah Grandin - American in Paris"
